‘Tis the season to design Christmas cards for clients and friends. Sometimes the hardest and most difficult projects to conjure up. Without it ending up with as a trite cliché or cliche (/ˈkliːʃeɪ/ or /klɪˈʃeɪ/) — that is an expression, idea, or element of an artistic work which has become overused to the point of losing its original meaning or effect, even to the point of being trite or irritating, especially when at some earlier time it was considered meaningful or novel. The cliche or predictable outcome, we’ve all seen the common “Seasonal” card. This example was crafted with only a partridge in a pear tree as the basic element then that was adorned with party particulars, and some Photoshop masking and layering. The final file was 449Mb and had 35 layers, not including the additional adjustment layers. It was the best seasonal party dinner invitation that this client had ever commissioned. Because they chose to have a full fledged design agency take it on for the price of admission. All were very pleased. Thank you Carla.
